Senior Data Scientist (f/m/d)

PHOENIX International Holdings GmbH is seeking a Senior Data Scientist (f/m/d) to join our AI & Advanced Analytics team based at our headquarters in Mannheim.

This position can be filled in one of our IT locations in Mannheim, Stuttgart or Fürth.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning, predictive analytics, optimization, and generative and agentic AI solutions that address complex business challenges.
  • Lead the development of end-to-end AI products, from problem definition and experimentation to production deployment and monitoring. 
  • Build solutions using Python, Pyspark, Databricks, Microsoft Azure and best practices in CI/CD and MLOps. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision making and AI adoption. 
  • Ensure model quality, reliability, explainability, and compliance with organizational standards and governance requirements. 
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the continuous development of the AI Factory's capabilities and standards. 
  • Evaluate and adopt new AI technologies, trends, frameworks, and development approaches to continuously improve the organization's AI capabilities. 

Ihr Profil

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. 
  • Several years of practical experience in design, development and deployment of data science solutions in production environments 
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern data science ecosystems, machine learning frameworks, and distributed data processing technologies. 
  • Experience with cloud-based AI development, preferably on Microsoft Azure, including software engineering practices like APIs, version control, CI/CD and DevOps 
  • Strong expertise in statistical modelling and machine learning, with relevant experience in Generative and Agentic AI. 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience in agile, cross-functional teams and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Experience in healthcare, supply chain, logistics, or pricing domains is beneficial but not required. 
  • Professional proficiency in English is required. German is a plus.
