Product Owner / Product Manager (AI Factory)


For our Competence Center IT & Digital we are looking for a Product Owner / Product Manager (m/f/d) (AI Factory). This role can be filled at our IT locations in Mannheim, Stuttgart and Fürth.

Your Tasks

  • You own the product vision & roadmap for your data and AI products and ensure alignment with PHOENIX business strategy and AI Factory goals.
  • You are responsible for the financial performance, value delivery, and growth of your data and AI products, including accountability for P&L impact where applicable.
  • You manage multiple AI use cases/products at varying stages (ideation, MVP, scaling), ensuring alignment with customer needs and business priorities.
  • You proactively promote and position AI solutions internally, engaging with new business units and helping secure buy-in for use case collaboration.
  • You define and prioritize the product backlogs, manage epics and user stories with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
  • You establish and maintain productive relationships with your customers, ensuring business value is central throughout the development lifecycle.
  • You collaborate with agile delivery teams (Agile Coaches, Data Scientists, Engineers) to drive product development.
  • You ensure transparency and effective communication about your data and AI products, both within the team and with key stakeholders.
  • You support governance activities, by contributing to portfolio reviews, stakeholder updates, and AI Factory reporting.

Your Profile

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally in corporate AI/ML environments or data-driven products.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience managing multiple products or workstreams simultaneously in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and internal consulting skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across diverse business units.
  • Experience with AI/ML product development is a strong advantage (but not mandatory).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Mindset: Proficient in analyzing data to drive product decisions and improvements.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or master's degree in business, Economics, Computer Science or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CSPO, PSPO) are a plus.
  • Fluency in English; German is a plus.
