We are looking for an European Category Manager (m/f/d) - Facility Management for our General Procurement Department. This position can be filled in Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium or Sweden.

As European Category Manager for Facility management you will be responsible to define the Strategy of your category for the group and roll it out across the countries in collaboration with key stakeholders. You will be part of the corporate procurement organization and will report to the Head of Category managent Real Estate, Warehousing & Logistics been part of a category manager team dispersed accross Europe. In your role you will interact with corporate functions at headquarter in Germany, as well as with the PHOENIX entities in the countries.

Your Tasks

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for the assigned category on a European level.                         
  • Conduct extensive research on market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to identify cost-saving opportunities.                                 
  • Identify and present new opportunities for efficiency and savings benefit on a regional/local level whilst aligning with the corporate strategy.
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks through effective risk management policies and protocols. 
  • Be a point of escalation for preferred vendor related issues.
  • Manage preferred vendors at group level for the assigned category through business review with the vendor senior leadership.    
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as finance, legal, and operations to ensure procurement activities align with overall business objectives both on a Corporate, Regional and Local level.
  • Perform value driven strategic sourcing initiatives to identify and select best in class suppliers for the assigned category

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed business studies or comparable training with at least 5 years of professional experience in Strategic Procurement (Category manager, lead Buyer, strategic sourcing specialist).
  • Experience of Working in an international, multi-cultural and multi-site environment    
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across hierarchy levels and functions cross-country.
  • Pragmatic with strong strategic thinking skills and analytical skills
  • Profound knowledge in Facility management.
