European Category Manager (m/f/d)- Professional Services (HR & Management Consulting)
As European Category Manager for Professional Services (esp. HR Services, Management Consulting) you will be responsible to define the strategy of your category for the group and roll it out across the countries in collaboration with key Stakeholders. You will lead cross-country initiatives to implement category strategies that align with our business objectives. The overall spend for professional services category (esp. HR Services, Management Consulting) is around 250 m Euros.
You will be part of the Corporate Procurement Organization and will report to the Head of Category Management Professional Services being part of a category manager team dispersed accross Europe. In your role you will interact with corporate functions at headquarter in Germany, as well as with the PHOENIX entities in the countries.
This position can be filled in PHOENIX locations all over Europe for example in Germany, UK, the Netherlands, France or Italy.
Your Tasks
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for the assigned category on a European level and build strong strategic relationships with stakeholders.
- Conduct extensive research on market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Perform value driven strategic sourcing initiatives to identify and select best in class suppliers for the assigned category.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as HR, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure procurement activities align with overall business objectives both on a Corporate, Regional and Local level.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with preferred vendors at group level for the assigned category through business review with the vendor senior leadership. Develop performance metrics to ensure service excellence and cost-effectiveness.
- Be a point of escalation for preferred vendor related issues.
- Proactively identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks through effective risk management policies and protocols.
- Oversee the category spend and identify and present new opportunities for efficiency and savings benefit on a regional/local level whilst aligning with the corporate strategy.
Your Profile
- Successfully completed business studies or comparable training with at least 5 years of professional experience in Strategic Procurement (Category manager, lead Buyer, strategic sourcing specialist).
- Proven experience and knowledge of the category Professional Services sub-categories, i.e. HR Services, Recruiting, Temporary Labor, Management Consulting.
- Strong analytical skills and strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
- Strong Strategic thinking skills.
- Pragmatic and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate across hierarchy levels and functions cross-country.
- Experience of working in an international, multi-cultural and multi-regional environment.
