Comparator Sourcing Manager (m/f/d)
Phoenix’s Clinical Trial Supply Team supports clinical trial Sponsors, CDMOs and CROs with the sourcing of commercially available medicinal products for clinical studies, which matches client’s requirements best at a financially competitive price.
Phoenix has the biggest pharmaceutical wholesale network in Europe and partners with different manufacturers from who we procure these commercial products from. Phoenix also provides the logistical support and coordinates the delivery of these products from the manufacturer/Phoenix’s wholesaler to the CTS Central Hub for further processing, to CDMOs, local depots or clinical trial sites in a GMP/GDP compliant manner.
We are looking for a Comparator Sourcing Manager (m/f/d) for our Clinical Trial Supply Team in Mannheim.
Your Tasks
The Comparator Sourcing Manager works closely with the different Phoenix Comparator Sourcing countries alongside the other members of the clinical trial team to grow the comparator sourcing business with new and existing clients.
Responsible for sourcing comparator products and working with cross-functional teams for all comparator sourcing related activities including business development, site project management and client services.
- Manage sourcing enquiries from new and existing clients.
- Focus on identifying the appropriate commercially available medicinal product and customize the sourcing strategy to meet the client’s needs.
- Perform basic research on the requested products in order to identify the appropriate manufacturer and market to source from.
- Maintain and further development of Phoenix’s Portal for Comparator Requests.
- Follow up with Phoenix Sourcing countries on enquiries and ensure to choose a quote that provides not only the most competitive price but meets the required deliverables, too.
- Prepare a proposal for the suggested sourcing strategy in a timely manner in order to meet client’s dateline.
- Ensure the executable quotation is complete with verified and accurate product information, utilizing an up-to-date quote from the chosen Phoenix country.
- Maintain a tracker of all the sourcing enquiries and follow-up on all enquires to completion.
- Ensure all important documents and communications are saved in the shared drive.
- Coordinate all the relevant activities related to comparator sourcing and communicate clearly with all the stakeholders involved in the project, especially around milestones that need to be kept to meet project timelines.
- Provide business support to the business development team and client specific team(s) to ensure end-to-end customer satisfaction and accuracy.
- Assist with RFI’s (request for information) to determine scope of work and how to best position Phoenix’s services to the client.
- Responsible for achieving annual comparator revenue, margin and sales targets.
- Constantly update the Phoenix Comparator Sourcing Country database with any relevant information received from the countries especially if they have expanded their capabilities/market access.
- Participate in client and country meetings and prepare meeting minutes for record keeping.
- Strictly adhere to GMP/GDP guidelines and internal SOPs.
Your Profile
- A University degree in Business or Life Sciences is preferred.
- Experience of working within the commercial and/or clinical supply chain.
- Familiarity with comparator products is preferred.
- Expertise in procurement, inventory, and distribution.
- Pricing analysis for informed sourcing decisions.
- The ability to develop and maintain the relationship with a network of suppliers.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time with the ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
