We are looking for a Head of North Region – Corporate General Procurement (m/f/d) to lead and translate our Corporate General Procurement strategy into impactful sourcing, supply, and cost benefit initiatives across northern Europe. The role partners closely with senior stakeholder across the region and within the corporate environment whilst also managing a team of 6 category managers ensuring strong governance, supplier performance, and seamless collaboration.

You will play a pivotal role in enabling strategy execution, tracking performance, supporting transformation initiatives, and acting as a central coordination point between corporate, category and country procurement teams.

This role can be filled in UK, France, Netherlands, Denmark.

Your Tasks

  • Act as the regional procurement lead for Northern Europe, covering the Nordics, Baltics, and Western Europe, translating business strategy into regional procurement priorities with responsibility for corporate category managers and strategies.
  • Partner with senior business and functional stakeholders to understand regional and country-specific requirements, influencing demand and shaping sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Enforce regional procurement governance and policy frameworks in line with Group strategy, ensuring consistency while allowing for local market realities.
  • Lead the development and execution of regional and global initiatives to secure supply, optimise total cost of ownership, improve service levels and fully leverage Phoenix Group’s purchasing power.
  • Build and develop the procurement reach capabilities and bench strengths
  • Ensure strong alignment and seamless collaboration between corporate category leads and local buying teams, acting as the escalation and integration point across organisational layers.
  • Build, develop and sustain strong regional procurement capabilities, including succession planning, talent development and strengthening the regional procurement bench.
  • Gain leadership consensus and commitment by sponsoring and leading cross-country and cross-functional sourcing initiatives, with active engagement from executive and senior management stakeholders.
  • Drive high supplier performance by ensuring alignment objects between the business and Procurement at all levels
  • Communicate effectively across executive, regional and operational levels to ensure procurement strategies, outcomes and value contribution are clearly understood and supported.
  • Establish and maintain strong strategic supplier relationships across the region, ensuring reliable operational support and long-term value creation at global and local levels.
  • Proactively drive strategy to reduce supply and continuity risks through regional and global supply base planning, scenario management and holistic assessment of supplier capability and financial health in line with due diligence requirements.

Your Profile

  • Business Degree or comparable discipline, complemented by a demonstrated track record of success (incl. strong understanding of legal frameworks, cost reduction programs/strategies)
  • Typically 8 years + of work experience in senior purchasing or procurement role
  • Demonstrate exceptional analytical, negotiation and numeracy skills
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, principles, and best practices
  • Aptitude in decision-making
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Working knowledge of Finance in terms of budgeting, cost management, and risk
  • Sound technical and tactical knowledge of the different commodities
  • Experience with ERP Systems, eProcurement tools (RFx, eAuctions, Contract Management)
  • Advance level in MS Office (Excel, Power Point)
  • Proficient in English and German – written and spoken
